Greetings, all! I decided to add a new sub-category to the My Art section of this website. It's called Doodle Art. Doodling is great for stress relief, gaining new ideas for other projects/tasks and just having fun. I hope you enjoy this new section. It's what I like to refer to as freestyle art or brainstorming...sort of like what I do when coming up with ideas for my novel (and am still in the brainstorm phase of that!). Here is a sample of what you'll see: When looking at the gallery, you might have to linger for a few minutes to see more than a bunch of lines or whatever. What do you see when you look at these pictures?
Enjoy! :-)

![]() As a website owner, I feel it's important to audit my site every now and then. After all, just about everything in life needs some sort of upgrade/change, right? So this evening, I decided to update the site. I didn't look at everything because there's so much material...and because I need a decent night's sleep for a change. LOL. Text improvements have been made to the Welcome page, and the Contact Me page received some necessary design updates. I removed the open links to Twitter as that particular account is receiving some necessary changes, as well. No worries, if you already follow me, you will still have access. If you have any suggestions or comments, please contact me! Cheers! ![]() Reading the Bible in a year...it's something I haven't attempted since I was a child. While surfing Christianity.org, I found an excellent "beginning to end" plan and decided it would be a good addition to this website (and good for me as well!). If interested in a guided plan, please check out the Read the Bible in a Year section. :-) ![]() I'm very excited about the latest improvements to my website! There have been several and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. In particular, the new page, "Free Gifts". Here are the changes that were made: "Free Gifts" Page This new section of the website contains the following five sub-sections:
"Welcome" Page
"My Blog" Page
![]() Earlier this afternoon, I enrolled in a video lecture series. It seemed great and I was impressed that it was offered for free. But...the advertising was a little misleading. To enhance the user experience, two guides were available for a discounted price. That really turned me off to the lecture series. I visited the sponsoring website and that was packed with items to purchase. That was concerning to see because shouldn't we want to offer more Christian material for free? Not all of us have unlimited financial resources. Of all the resources available, the most important is The Bible. I created a new tab called The Bible. On it you'll find a free search tool. Sure, it isn't like having a hard copy in your library, however, it's free and available 24/7. You can search for specific chapters and verses, as well as key words. There's also a listing of the Books of the Bible for your reference. You might also notice that the "Think Happy Thoughts" page is no longer listed on this site. I haven't deleted it. However, even though it's fun, it's a page that is difficult for me to update on a regular basis. ![]() Hi everyone! I've created a new page under My Art...Pen & Pencil Drawings. There aren't any drawings there yet, but there will be in the near future. :-) My art is the reason why I've slacked on blogging. That and the fact that treatment for this stupid disease kicks my arse every now and then and limits what I can and can't focus on. When I was in high school, art was one of my favorite classes (that and writing), so I'm trying to get back into both as it's fun for me. It's an amazing feeling when my art reaches people on a deep level...I love hearing how the artwork makes them feel and how they interpret what they see. The Christian-based artwork has a tendency to evoke a lot of warm and fuzzy emotions and being honest, I cry whenever I draw or paint a Christian-based work...one could say that's the Holy Spirit working in me and I welcome that strong connection to the Lord. My favorite Christian-based work thus far is "Touched", a piece for Pentecost. It's on the Multimedia page. Worth viewing. Sometimes I work from home, sometimes when I'm feeling well I work from Starbucks. I'm sure people wonder why I have to take up a third of an 8-chair table (when I'm blessed enough to actually get one of the tables...I compete with students and professionals for the prime spots!). I always have a lot of tools and such with me. Starbucks visits are important to me for other reasons, too...they help keep me connected to the world outside the walls of my home in an environment that isn't overwhelming to my senses. Lyme has really affected my nerves so there are few places I can tolerate without herxing. It's sad, being an extrovert at heart, but in my mind, I'm making small steps towards improvement. And that's a win for me every time I walk through the door and stay. So, rounding back to the original reason for this blog entry...I've added to the My Art section. Pen & Pencil Drawings is the page name. Keep checking because right now I update the My Art pages with new art on a pretty consistent basis. Thank you for following me. If you have any suggestions or would like to be a guest blogger on either or both of my blogs, i.e., this personal blog, Everything Lyme, please contact me. If you have any suggestions for artwork you'd like me to attempt, I'm open to special requests...just contact me. Hi everyone! I'm very pleased to announce the new additions to www.EverythingUnscripted.net. My Art! My art will always be a work in progress...a true artist's work is never complete, right? That's just part of the skills strengthening process while having fun. And that's key: having fun. There are a lot of people with chronic conditions, chronic illness, a massive amount of stress, are sleep deprived, and/or so on. We all need an outlet, a place where we can simply be free. Free of the stress. Free of the pressure. Free of the stuff that weighs us down. And that's why I decided to share my art. Perhaps to inspire others to find their outlet, their happy space amidst stress and whatnot. Here's a brief sample of what you'll find in the new section, as well as a list of what is featured there: My dad asked me what I enjoy most. That's a tough question and really I can't play favorites, especially knowing some of these things are new for me while others I have more experience with.
What do you do to relax and unwind? Does art appeal to you as a stress-reliever and fun activity? Do you have any reasonable special requests you'd like me to tackle? If so, please contact me. I'd be happy to hear from you. I've always wanted to provide visitors with fresh new designs and a diverse range of content...that's why I felt the total makeover was so important. For those who are regulars, you'll notice that literally every page is either new or changed in some way. Of all the improvements that were made, my favorite is the Everything Lyme page. If you have Lyme, are a caregiver, love and support someone with Lyme or are just curious, I encourage you to check out that page. It's in blog format and already has several entries.
Interested in being a guest contributor? Questions, comments, suggestions, critiques? General thoughts on the new website? Contact me. I'd be more than happy to connect with you. Enjoy! Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. Sort of a rough go at it healthwise, but I'm optimistic that treatment is working. Even with the tough days, there are some good ones and that makes me happy. God is good. He is so good. And He will heal me. I have no doubt. Until then, this is my mood for the day... Have an awesome day, everyone. Whether it's a go out and have fun around town type of day or a let's relax with yoga pants, coffee and Netflix day, enjoy it.
PS: I'm working on a new website design. Might take a while, but I think you all might like the upgrades to www.EverythingUnscripted.net...it will include photography tabs. Fun! |
